We break our record for female participation

The Škoda Titan Desert Morocco celebrates its twentieth edition. On the occasion of this anniversary, the race put homework. Among them has been one of its great areas of historical improvement of this mountain bike event: women’s participation.

Registration for the race closed on Friday and, of course, there is reason to celebrate. The 2025 edition will be the edition with the highest number of women in history: 71, surpassing the 69 of the 2018 edition.

In addition, taking into account that the total participation of the edition will be around 500 cyclists, the presence of women will be around 14%, also a record for the race in its 20 years of history.

The fact that one of every seven participants that will start the race on May 1st will be a woman is a reason to celebrate, but also a consequence of the work that has been done for months, both by the organization, participants and brands.

Since July, the race launched SheTitan, an umbrella under which a series of actions have been carried out to make more women aware of the race and to make the Titanas who have already completed the adventure more visible.

To this end, ambassadors (professional and amateur cyclists) have helped to share the initiative and to share their experiences in this unique race with all their followers and admirers.

A series of training plans have also been prepared by Sara Carmona, a personal trainer and Titana, who designed a specific plan for the debutants to arrive in the best possible shape for May 1st.

Several brands and groups have also joined the challenge with teams formed exclusively or almost exclusively by women: such as the Moove Foundation initiative, which will raise funds for access to education for Moroccan women, or the Škoda RACC HolaBICI team of six cyclists. The latter was born with the aim of promoting women’s participation in cycling, encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle. Objective that will materialize this year turning the six participants into Titanas.

#one100women

But under the arm of SheTitan also came a goal on the horizon: the #one100women. To get 100 women to be part of the peloton of the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco.

The 2025 edition will not be the edition of the 100 Titanas, but it does lay the foundations to continue growing and developing this idea that seeks to make the race an increasingly inclusive space and that the peloton becomes more and more equal in its presence of men and women.

At the moment, the goal that has been achieved is high, to be able to say that the Škoda Titan Desert Morocco 2025 will be the most feminine in history.
